After nearly a decade of public service as an Assistant District Attorney in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Louis C. Mussari founded a small boutique firm focused Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Insurance Defense Litigation.
Mr. Mussari is a consummate professional in the courtroom and his background as a prosecutor makes him a formidable opponent. Louis has successfully litigated jury trials to verdict in the following areas: Homicide, Rape, Gun Possession, Burglary, Strangulation, and Driving While Intoxicated.
Following graduation from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2008 (B.A. Psychology Magna Cum Laude) Mr. Mussari attended Law School at the State University at Buffalo (J.D. 2011). Mr. Mussari was admitted to the State Bar of New York in 2011 and has remained a member in good standing ever since.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Mussari is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law at the University at Buffalo. From the unique perspective of a criminal defense attorney with nearly a decade of experience as a prosecutor he offers a comprehensive and challenging class in Criminal Law which covers legal research, suppression issues, pre- and post-trial motions and takes a hard look into limitations of the criminal justice system.
Mr. Mussari is a lifetime member of the Bar Association of Erie County where he serves on the Criminal Law Committee, Solo and Small Law Firm Practice Committee, and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Louis Mussari's other professional memberships include American Bar Association where he is an active member on the Criminal Litigation and Trial Evidence Committees within the Litigation Division. Mr. Mussari is a member of the New York State Bar Association and serves on the Criminal Justice Committee as well as the Trial Lawyers Committee. In addition, Mr. Mussari is also a registered member of New York State Defenders Association.
